    1. Hi Namyen, it is indeed good how there is a level test available on this site. It might help students choose the correct level to study at.
What I also like about this site is the layout. It is easy to navigate and find what you are looking for.
A disadvantage for using the video clips in class is that they are of a lower resolution that the clips on the BBC Learning English page.

  2. I try to explore many sections from the British council website . I like it because I can watch videos, read texts, listen to audio and do online exercises that can help to improve my reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. It is free of charge. That is a good website that I can use with my students .Moreover we can test our level before to get start .Do the level test can help us to find pages that are the right level for us.For each page will have the introduction it is good for us because we will know how or step to learn in that section. The page usually has a text, a video or an audio file for us to read, watch or listen to. When we have done that we can do the exercises that check if we do not understood what we have read, seen or heard. We can see the transcript to videos or audio on the page .I think I like all the section of this website. There are worksheets on most pages. The worksheets have the online exercises in PDF version and there are also transcripts and answer sheets. That very useful for the teacher because teacher can download it for the students .These will be useful if you want to do the exercises offline or for teachers as extra homework tasks where your students don’t all have an internet connection.

  3. I have looked through the content of the British Council Learn English website and found that there are a lot of useful resources that covers the 4 communicative skills and even the one aims to enhance your vocabulary. There are even the sections that are specifically for kids, teenagers and those who wants to develop their Business English skills. Today I try to look at something new, the Business English section Episode 1, and find that it's interesting. What I love is that they start the lesson with the video. It is a story of a man who was sacked by his boss and his boss has to look for a new person to substitute him. The video also comes with transcript and even the accompanying exercises which is very useful. You can also download the exercise and print it out.
Anyway, for my class, as I am teaching secondary students, I will rather use the content that focus on 4 skills, grammar and vocabulary because it goes well with the content of the course I'm teaching. I will print out the exercise and let the students watch the video in each section. I think this will make the learning more fun.

  4. 'Learn English' with British Council is very useful and helpful for both the teachers and the multi-level students. There are many materials and exercises to practice all of 4 skills.
I like almost all sessions, especially listening skill I used to pick ones to improve my skills in my free time and help me about preparing exercises or tasks for my students in the special class. But now I've just found the teaching steps from this website as well. It makes me happy to manage the lesson according to the level of the student's. To be frank, I will get ones to teach my students because it's interesting for my students and I will advice someone who wants to learn oneself, just click on this website. I'm sure you're better at English.

  5. I’ve watched BBC website and found that a lot resources for people who want to learn English. There are 4 skills, grammar, vocab, business and general English, reading. We can improve our skills. They start with the beginner to advance. After we listen, read, write or speak we can practice or do the exercise which a lot there. But the teachers should study first before letting students do because some of directions are difficult and confuse to do. Yesterday, I listened first, they talk slowly and easily listen this do not make the beginner students feel anxious. Some schools where internet is not good or there are not the native speakers, the teachers can download the exercise for students. This web support both teachers and students to good at English without paying money and we can learn anywhere and anytime. I found the treasure resource to help me and students.

  6. There are many interesting parts on British Council Learn English which learners can use this website as resources to develop their 4 skills of English. The learners can choose the suitable level activities to their English background knowledge because there are divided into levels in each skill. Myself as a learning, I love to listen and see at the same time, so I like the VDO zone. In this section after watch the VDO clip, there are some activities related to the VDO clip for checking understanding which is my favorite part to have the answers checked. If my answers were wrong, I can go back to the VDO and listen again to check where the correct answers are. There are also the transcripts of each listening which I can see the spelling in case I don’t sure about the difficult words. With this website, it isn’t only to improve my English, but it’s also useful for my students in my classes. I can print out activities in every sections for my students. As in my writing classes, there are some tips which will make the writing easier for my students as a guideline.

    1. Hi Somanat,
Thanks for your post. You're right about comprehension questions after watching a video. If you get them wrong, you can go back and watch again and try and get them right.
The writing exercises look interesting. There are a lot of different genres or text types focused on e.g. a CV and various kinds of letters, emails and reports. I think I'll use the writing section in my classes in the future.
      Cheers.

  7. Learning English through British Council website is very interesting. There are many kinds of sections for learning every skills, such as vocabularies, grammars and examinations etc. It is a useful resource for teacher to implement it to class. I like listening section. The first part is the example situation in everyday life. The second part for student to follow and practice by themselves. So, it is more practical and relevance to student's daily activities that students can easily access into the lesson and repeating it. Finally, the section ends up with the examinations and scores available for students to evaluate themselves how bad or good on each learning section.

  8. From watching British council, there are many activities for practicing my listening, reading, writing and speaking skills which can be useful for my teaching.
My favorite section is reading skill because I can find activities to improve the students's reading skill. A beginner of English learner can practice to use words and sentences about simple topics. A pre-intermediate learner can practice simple tests and the students can practice to find specific information in everyday materials. An intermediate learner can practice texts about daily life or specific topic as job. An upper intermediate learner can practice texts with a wide vocabulary. The students may need to consider the writer's opinion. An advanced learner can practice complex texts about a wide variety of topics. I think this section provides for many levels. Each lesson is suitable for each level of English learners. The section of reading skill has many preparation tasks and reading texts. The students can practice a variety of reading skills. The section of reading skill is useful for teaching English in my classroom.

After I learned from learnenlish britishcouncil website, I found that this website is very good for teachers and students as the teachers are able to find tasks and worksheets in all skills to use with their students and students can learn by themselves. There are many parts to learn such as vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking. For example, in grammar part, I choose to learn adjective. Before learning I can learn how to use it and do the tasks. After that I can correct my answers by myself. Also, in reading part we can select the suitable level as beginning, intermediate, or advance and there are a lot of articles to practice our reading. Besides, I can check my understanding in the article by doing the tasks and worksheet.
